Album Notes

Benedict Moleta's sixth album, released in October 2011, features Benedict’s four-piece band, as well as long-term collaborators Jonathan Brain and Daniel Marano. The arrangements are lean and uncluttered, but a number of new musical directions are at work. The electric guitars often have a bright fifties feel, and Hammond organ has become a mainstay, giving the songs a steady pulse. There’s a mellow skiffle vibe on a couple of tracks, as well as backing vocals from the band.

The songs are clearly autobiographical, often commemorating experiences from childhood or adolescence. They describe some of the mysterious events which make up everyday life. Summing up Benedict’s previous album Timesheet, Xpress magazine wrote “It's not sad music per se - just deeply honest and real."

Benedict Moleta Band is:
Harry Kneen – bass
Sam Scherr – electric guitar and backing vocal
Lily Sumich: drums
Lorraine Sumich: keyboards and backing vocal
Benedict Moleta – acoustic guitar, nylon guitar and singing

Additional players:
Jonathan Brain – electric, acoustic and nylon string guitars
Daniel Marano – electric guitar
