'Sums' is an adventure in time signatures and sonic emotions, weaving the listener through instrumental band arrangements, drum orchestrations and ukulele numbers. Disappointed with studio engineers’ abilities during the recording and mixing of his 2006 release, 'Tundah!', Carr decided to take on the role of engineer himself: 'Sums' is recorded, mixed and mastered by his own hands in order to achieve the exact sound and emotions he wished to portray.
A genre-evading journey through sound, 'Sums' features exceptional talent from the southern Vermont region, including Bob Everingham, Dan Rostov, Pat Stevens, Bahman Mahdavi, John Jamison, Eugene Uman and Josh Maiocco.
Carr is known as the drummer/percussionist for several premier New England acts, including Mo Ambesa, Sunny Lowdown, BroadBand and Soul Design. Though he enjoys creating music written with a multitude of talented players throughout the region, he continues to pursue his particular brand of rootsy, funky, eclectic melodies, and 'Sums' acts as a tour-de-force through the mind of a modern musical wizard.
