Album Notes

Ben Ricker has been playing piano since the second grade. Growing up he played a variety of different styles of music while also playing the flute. At a later age he began studying jazz harmony and improvisation. After becoming fascinated with the world of jazz and intrigued by the complexities of the music's harmony and rhythm he decided to pursue music as a career.

Ben recorded his first cd with the Ben Ricker Trio at Wellspring Sound in Acton, Ma in 2006. The trio features Kendall Eddy on bass and Austin McMahon on drums. Also playing on parts of the disc are Andy Voelker on alto sax and Mike Tucker on tenor sax. The CD is entititled "Alone Together" and is now available through Wilder and Gage Productions. Ben is currently working throughout the greater Boston area as a freelance musician.
