I absolutely loved this CD!! The range of emotions is incredible. I primarily bought the CD for "She Loves Me", which is simply the best love song I have ever heard. Then "After You Let Go' is about the best breaking up song I have ever heard. Throw in the satire of "Dig Deep" and the sheer fun or "Growing Marijuana in My Yard" and you have one of the most eclectic CD's of recent memory.

Scales entertains and charms in the vein of John Prine and Loudon Wainwright III
author: Bill Dean - The Ledger, Lakeland FL
The line that provides the title for Ben Scales' new album, "Letter From God," comes from the opening song "Dig Deep," a tongue-in-cheek tune that sets the rest of the album's tone of witty lyrics and cleanly executed acoustic guitar.
A longtime Lakeland resident now living in Asheville, N.C., (and who annually returns to perform at Mayfaire by-the-Lake), Scales entertains and charms in the vein of John Prine and Loudon Wainwright III on such songs as "She Loves Me" and Where Does a Cowboy Go?"
Others on the album, including "After You Go" and "Growing Marijuana in My Yard," have become big hits on mp3.com. The album is available on www.benscales.com.
