From the rolling hills of South Wales to the mean streets of south London, Welsh singer songwriter Ben Williams is going the extra mile to bring audiences something special; wide-screen songs in the key of 'epic' which, once experienced, can never be forgotten.

For Ben Williams, a year spent writing alone in a caravan in the welsh countryside was the catalyst for a unique chemistry that combines the melodic, pop sensibility of KT Tunstall and the Dandy Warhols, with the swaggering rock bombast of The Who. Of his time in the wilderness, Ben says:

"I was stuck in a rut and I needed to change... I moved away to a caravan on a hillside and quit my day job... at first I wasn't sure what I was doing, but I always had a guitar in my hand, and slowly I began to figure it out and find my own voice. I just wrote and wrote."

And even though Ben may not have seen it coming, his choice of career came as no surprise to his father – legendary songwriter and veteran producer John David. So while songwriting is clearly in the blood, how does it feel to have Wales' most successful living songwriter looking over your shoulder?

"Yeah, no pressure! Actually, I can honestly say I've never felt that. I've always done my own thing, and he's been happy to let me figure it out for myself. And it's great to know I'm doing this for the love of it, not because someone's behind a curtain pushing me out on stage!"

Ben Williams has just completed his debut EP 'Let it Rain' and together with a formidable backing band, is now making music of memorably anthemic power.
