His music has been described as "Honest", "Earthy", "Front porch pickin' music", and "Campfire music". This also describes THE LIGHTER SIDE OF POVERTY, the new cd by Singer/Songwriter/Guitar player Ben Willis(Who's never seen an ink blot he didn't like). A collection of ten story songs with a cast of characters including hobos, circus freaks, war heroes, drunk dancers, inept farm hands, dillusional jail inmates and generally lost souls. Playing a righthanded guitar lefthanded upside down and acoustic slide, Ben's musical and lyrical influences range from Doc and Merle Watson to John Prine and Steve Goodman.
