Album Notes

Constantly singing as a child, Jake's Mom featured him in the mandatory family holiday pageants. Jake picked up the trumpet at age 11, leading to fanatical study of trumpet and jazz. Accomplishments include a national Downbeat Award for best vocal jazz quartet at age 17, performances for numerous fortune 500 companies as both leader and sideman, and a Masters Degree in trumpet performance. "My Name Is Jake" features some of Seattle's best session players backing up Jake for a fresh take on some great danceable standards and is a partial tribute to heros Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles.

REVIEWS

Live or CD, both are well worth it.

We have used Jake's band live for two of our son's wedding receptions. Our family, extended family, and friends are now accustomed to having a grand time at our receptions. This CD brings back all the memories of bride/groom, fathers/daughters, mothers/sons, uncles/aunts, grandfathers/granddaugthers, friends/neighbors all dancing because Jake's addicting music has got to them and brought out the best. Thanks for taking the time to record the fun. Richard

This is a fantastic album, and one well worth dimming the lights for. Jake fuses the finess of Sinatra with the hippness of inspired bop trumpet playing. I can't wait for the next record! All my love and support--Neil W.
