Strange Light is David\'s long-awaited 3rd studio release. Produced by Brian Deck (Iron and Wine, Josh Ritter, Modest Mouse, Counting Crows) and recorded at Chicago\'s Engine Studios, the album features David\'s finest songs and best performances yet. From the opening refrain of his epic Hurricane to the final notes of the haunting love song Angelina, Strange Light will possess you.
Sara Watkins of Nickel Creek sings backup vocals on Glory, High Heels and Oh Lord, Come Down. And David\'s band includes Ani DiFranco\'s bassist Todd Sickafoose, Mindy Smith\'s mandolinist Lex Price and Califone\'s multi-instrumentalist Jim Becker.
David is now living in the mountains of Corsica, a village called Tralonca (pop. 37). Most of his concerts are now performed in French, in centuries-old churches and in village squares. But he will be touring heavily in America upon the release of Strange Light. And if you think these songs sound good on the record, wait until you hear them live.
For fans of Ryan Adams, Beck, David Gray, Gary Jules, Grant-Lee Phillips, Rufus Wainwright...here is a new one for your ipods.

So many great songs... so little time!

Great album. It took a while before I could listen to anything else! My favorite songs have to be
"Oh Lord Come Down" has great harmonizing with Sarah Watkins and has (of course) great lyrics!!
"Scraps Of You" I love David's voice in this and the lyrics are just so beautifully sad.
"Milwaukee Road" Okay I'm not sure why but I'm crazy about this song! It plays a whole story in my head.
"Glory" is perfect in it's simplicity and has to have the best vocals of the whole album.
"High Heels And All" so romantic... beautiful lyrics...wow
"Angelina" all around great song! Best song on the album!
GREAT ALBUM! I love it as much as the others but they are all kind of batteling it out right now to see which is my favorite. All David Berkeley's songs are great! How can I choose?? I can't wait to see him improve even more!
By the way, he's GREAT in concert. I saw him open for Don Mclean at the Birchmere. SOOO sad I can't see him his year. : (
