Mark Bernat is widely recognized as one of a few virtuosos of the double bass. Bernat has appeared in major concert halls in the United States, Europe, Israel, and China. A native of Poland, Mr Bernat trained at the High School of performing arts and the Juilliard School of Music. Ehile still in his twenties, he gave recitals at London's Purcell Room and Carnegie Recital Hall in New York City. As the youngest member of the Israel Philharmonic, he worked with such notable coductors as Zubin Mehta an Leonard Bernstein. Featured on National Public Radio's Morning Edition, Mark Bernat and his landmark recording of Bach's Six Suites have generated considerable interest in the world of classical music.
