There you may see Bertha dressed in coveralls riding a Ford Tractor cutting her acres of grass or tilling her soil for her garden. On her face is a big smile letting you know she's doing what she loves. Take a tour in her lovely country cottage and you will be amazed at what you'll see. her hobbies also include shopping. She loves buying clothes and shoes. Bertha has it all, from casual to evening wear! She's soft spoken and never breaking her smile, Bertha is full of energy! Could be the country air and fresh grown food she eats. Her favorite drinks are grape juice, ice water, ice water, and more ice water. This lady is cool.
Bertha Payne is very unique in so many ways, and hard worker on her farm, her job, and on stage. She explodes on stage and puts her heart in her show. Keeping the attention of the audience, she shows love. A one of a kind lad is "Ms Glamorous" Bertha Payne!
Bertha retired from the Shelby County School System after 38+ years of outstanding service. She's a devoted mother and mother-in-law to her son Ernest Alexander Greenleaf and his wife Kim. A dedicated church worker, she works well with people and is loved by family and friends. Her first encounter with music was hearing the different types of music on WDIA Radio Station in Memphis, Tennessee. At an early age, after joining the church, she began singing in the choir and as she grew so did her love for music. Since 2000 she has been the featured artist at many local clubs and private functions around the Mid-South. Bertha was an opening act at a Mississippi Blues Festival in 2003 where Bobby Rush appeared on the card. She completed her first recording session on August 1, 2004 in St. Louis, Mo. She was in concert with KoKo Taylor on September 17, 2004 in Chicago, Ill.
