Album Notes

Barbara has enjoyed playing the harp for many years at St. Joseph Hospital, Mission Hospital and City of Hope in southern California. Her beautiful music helps create a calm and soothing environment for patients, families and staff. Creating this CD has been a labor of love for all of the people who have been asking for her to come home with them.

After a long and successful career in the computer industry, Barbara took a trip to Scotland where her heart was touched by the calm, soothing sound of the Celtic harp.

Captivated by this elegant instrument, she began taking lessons from Verlene Schermer, a well-known harpist in Northern California. Very quickly, her new passion came to light. She returned to Scotland several times to study with one of its top harpists, Alison Kinnaird.

Now, from hospitals to care facilities, from weddings to holiday dinners, the joy and gentleness of Barbara’s Celtic Harp helps her audiences slow down. Her quiet, lyrical music creates a comforting atmosphere where you can relax, listen and enjoy the moment.

My friends and co-workers enjoy this CD as one that helps to calm them while in bumper to bumper traffic, or to relax once they reach home after a stressful work day, or to get a good night's sleep. I love listening to the clear tones and beautiful instrumental melodies. The word that comes to mind most often is Exquisite!

Yes, I'm Barbara's sister, but this CD is really great! My doctor bought it to play in his office because it is so relaxing and easy to listen to. My hairdresser bought one for her mother, who plays it every day. My students with learning disabilities ask me to play it every chance they get. They find it helps them to concentrate.
