Album Notes

Here is Beth Kohnen's second CD, "Knee Action" which is currently receiving air play on Blues Radio stations around the world. The title "Knee Action" comes from the song "West Wind" by Big Walter Horton.
"My baby knee action like a thirty-seven Chevrolet -
He 'bout the free wheelin-est man Mother Motor ever had."

Beth, on the recording of the CD:
For this CD the whole band went into a studio I will not name (unless you write and ask)
and in nine hours we recorded live and without overdubs, twelve songs we were very happy with.
We went home late, happily exhausted, thinking we would come back and listen to our 'treasure' in the morning.
The next day I got a phone call from the engineer saying he had mistakenly deleted all our work but would give us the time to re-record. When we arrived at the studio he was difficult and defensive.
Thanks to the professionalism of the band we were able to record the CD in two more sessions not exactly 'with' but 'in spite' of the engineer.

While I promised myself I would record my next CD in friendlier surroundings the actual result was a good product that was played on the radio both nationally and internationally and sold very well at my venue gigs and farmers markets. Women often came up to me and said they play this CD all the time in the car. One woman said "I need to buy another one. My boss took my copy and I need it when I am driving." This wonderful complement gave me the idea for my third CD.

About The Graphic:
I took the cover picture myself. It was late afternoon, the shadows were getting deep, and I was sitting in a rocking chair while dinner was cooking. I snapped the picture holding my camera out with my left hand and came up with a half-shadow face that was too good to resist.
