Album Notes

Beth Thornley is earning a reputation as a profound songwriter in the underground pop world. Recognized for inventive melodies and intelligent lyrics, her songs keep the listener intrigued from beginning to end. Performing Songwriter wrote “Beth Thornley's self-titled debut is one of the most professional and fully realized records to cross the DIY desk in a while. Breathless, cool, sexy and just about any other superlative adjective you can imagine, this record kicks off with a sleazy, skittering groove and proceeds at breakneck pace for 10 stellar tunes.” Compared to Sheryl Crow, Aimee Mann and Beth Orton by writers such as Bruce Brodeen of Not Lame Recordings, Beth’s sound has been called, “pop with modern rock wrapped in a package of addicting hooks….Her music is filled with a delightful and most serious commitment to making things interesting at every turn.” Summer 2006 brings the release of Beth’s 2nd album, “My Glass Eye”. On this album you can find a range of styles

Very Talented! Awesome music!
author: Justin T.
Beth is so talented, its a shame she hasn't broken out into the main stream yet. She has very conscious and thoughful lyrics accompanied by her angelic voice and awesome instumental by her and her band mates! Buy it, you won't be sorry! Check out her local shows in you live in the LA area! This CD review is now a couple of years overdue! sorry beth! :)

Very catchy.

Trying not to bob your head to 'I Will Lie' and 'Sunshine and Celluloid' is pointless. 'How Many Days' is my favourite song on the cd, its got bits of ska, rock (kinda like No Doubt) and even some country guitar. I know it sounds like a weird combination, but it sounds awesome, especially if you're tired of all the same stuff on the radio.

Superb!

I received this CD as a gift two weeks ago, and nothing has made it into my CD player since! I can't seem to get enough of this crisp, intelligent music, which fills my soul more each time I hear it. The chorus of "Arrogance" just keeps playing endlessly in my head. The edgier tracks like "Break u n 2" really rock, but EVERY single song on this CD is a treat. Thank you Beth!
