Water on the Field
I chose this cd because I like world music - I knew nothing about the artist. It was a lucky happenchance. The music varies it is beautiful and soothing, invigorating and energizing but always interesting. And Betsy emailed me herself to thank me and informed me that a portion of the proceeds of the sale of her music goes to a school in India. What a beautiful thing for a work of art to be in the world and be a positive force too!

Water on the Field
Betsy's richly layered offerings require the listener to stop and listen. Sit down and spend thirty two minutes in a bath of textures fused from a variety of world sources. At first blush you realize the need to stop and actually listen to each track and become aware of the instrumentation and the vocal quality. I found on my third listen a flow and harmony of the tracks I had not realized in earlier listens. I am pleased with the quality of depth and thoughtfulness of the music. I look forward to future respites with Betsy V's Water on the Field. Truly!
