This is some of the most tasteful and soulful Smooth Jazz money can buy... The Waiting is just delightful through and through. With honey smooth compositions like the moving, " The Even/The Revival," and the driving "Blues for Brother J," this new project is sure to enhance a romantic evening or a relaxing weekend... The Georgia-based band has been playing together since the late 1980's... Formed by drummer/keyboardist, B.D. (Byron Davis) he is joined on this project by Sax Man Kenny Faison and Keyboardist Antoine Hollins. They have performed with a wide spectrum of groups, from the Beach Boys to Public Enemy. The Between 9&7 sound is as good as it because of the heritage of this ensemble... Solid playing, exceptional players, great songs and a very cool vibe. The band is well balanced between keys and horns... Lots of horns and well executed keyboards including piano and organ. That's what we like most about Between 9&7's forth release to date, The Waiting . Featured horns: , flute, trombone and saxophone accentuate and brighten up this collection of eleven songs. In addition to some smooth and funky original compositions, you'll also hear complimentary cover of Wham’s (George Michael) Careless Whisper.
