notes

Beyond Blonde kicks out original fun, jams with southern/classic/blues rock influences with a twist of funk.

See this band perform once, and you'll know what's unique about them! Known for their energetic and eye-catching show - in the words of noted vocal coach Lis Lewis (director of the Singers' Work Shop) - "there's so much going on up there, I had a hard time deciding who to focus on . . . your performance was riveting!"

This band is most often described as Heart meets Lynyrd Skynyrd. Formed in 2002 and consisting of three sexy women and one smoking male lead guitar player, Beyond Blonde has been chocking up one accolade after another (see below). Unlike the angst-driven sounds of punk, grunge, or modern hard rock, Beyond Blonde's music is positive, straight-ahead, soul-driven rock-n-roll that'll make you dance & smile. Moreover, since the singer sounds like Cher, Melissa Etheridge, and Sass Jordan, while packing the vocal power of Janis Joplin, and the music influences range from Aerosmith, Marshall Tucker, Chicago, the Doobie Brothers, Van Halen, Buddy Guy, AC/DC, and the Rolling Stones to Led Zeppelin, its audience consists of people from 6 to 60! If you like any of these artists, or Bonnie Raitt, you'll like Beyond Blonde

  • Leaves Me Wanting More
    author: Rick Calcagni

well, I told you the only thing wrong with the sampler you gave me way back when was that it was too short; it just left me wanting more. So I was delighted to get a copy of the new disc at the show Friday, and better yet, it delivers! The rest of the material is just as strong as the sampler stuff, great playing, great vocals, *really* great production; those tunes just leap out of the speakers. I love everything about the disc; simply awesome. P.S. your live set was rockin too; I gotta get out and catch a full night sometime. author: Rocky Hollis

I would very much like to see them playing live if they are close enough. My wife realy likes them, so from the both of us, ROCK ON

  • I loved this CD. These blondes can really rock!
    author: Diane Cotting

I've heard Beyond Blonde live before and enjoyed every minute. I haven't heard rock and roll like that in years. But The CD is just great too. I played it at my office the other day and everyone was dancing. Ok, so maybe that wasn't such a good idea because it was hard to get "back to business." But, boy did we have fun! Thanks girls (and boy)

  • Some Sexy Packaging for Some Kick Ass Rock and Roll!!
    author: Richard Pacheco

"They're smart, sassy, three blondes and a very lucky man. Some sexy packaging for some kick ass rock and roll. They are a great sounding band who knows how to rock and flaunts it. You've got to see them to really appreciate them. There is nothing like Beyond Blonde live. Their songs range from knock down drag out hot to sultry and soulful. "Take a Picture" is hot and roaring. "Somewhere Down the Line" is soulful and haunting." Richard Pacheco Former Critic New Bedford Standard-Times

  • brand new classic rock!
    author: terry balentine

love this cd! you just dont get this kind of sound from the new rock bands. i knew from the first song this was going to be a winner, great guitar work, solid bass line, edgey vocals, more than just fluff on top of the music like most girl bands or in this case mostly girl band. hope they tour the southwest sometime so i can see um live!

  • author: Bob (Year and a day)

Tight, punchy and smokin ! ! The CD has the hooks that make ya wanna get up and move your body.. The vocals come through strong and emotional, the drums, bass and rhythm guit hit it hard and tight keeping it all togather. The leads are straight to the point. Damn good sound all around ! ! !

  • author: Dave

I love southern rock and when I stumbled upon this band I almost fell to the floor. Not only do they add a new twist to the southern rock and classic rock music that can only be heard on the classic rock radio stations; they're mostly women! Unbelievable. There's quite a few new bands out that consist of entirely women or primarily women but these girls rock! Best of luck to you all

  • New Classic Rock!
    author: Ray

New Classic Rock! Now there's a concept I'd like more original bands to adopt. This album has a tried and true classic sound with some new edgy twists, just to make it fresh. These Ladies and a Gent got it goin' ON!!!
