Album Notes

BEYOND THE VORTEX was founded in 2010 in Zürich, Switzerland and consists of Lukas Villiger (vocals), Simon Burri (lead guitars), Dave Schlumpf (Drums) and Oskar Zekorn (rhythm guitars).
Driven by a mixture of melodic Death Metal and violent Hardcore, BEYOND THE VORTEX set out to conquer the metal scene with their relentless live shows.
After the release of a promotional CD in May 2010, the powerful debut album “ONE” now sees the light of day – exactly one year later.

The band’s aptly titled first record presents the full spectrum of heavy, modern Metal: “ONE” takes the listener on a 40-minute journey through the world of BEYOND THE VORTEX. The balance between catchy melodies and heavy grooves, mixed with earth-shattering breakdowns, relentless double-bass passages, violent blastbeats and mind-blowing guitar solos are a delight for fans of Unearth, Hatebreed, Devildriver, In Flames or All Shall Perish.
The vocals do their part as well: Vocalist Lukas Villiger screams his guts out in numerous variations. The lyrics, often dealing with personal issues, lend an additional facet to the songs.
The album was recorded completely by the band itself, with the exception of the mastering, which was handled by Christoph Brandes (Iguana Studios Freiburg, Germany).
