Album Notes

The Jazz CD "Reflections" includes both duo and trio settings. The duo is for trumpet and guitar. The trio adds a string bass.The band strives for an relaxed intimate sound. The CD does a nice job of recreating their live performance style. The leader on this CD is trumpet player, Bruce Friedman. The guitarist is Ron Hershewe. The bass player is Mike Flick. The group has worked in the Los Angeles area for the past 7 - 8 years. Additionally they work individually with other jazz groups, free improv projects, pop bands, classical ensembles, and musical theater jobs. Other individual credits for each include stints with The Platters (Bruce), Buddy Collette (Ron) and the Dorsey Brothers Big Band (Mike).

The trumpet player, Bruce Friedman, also has projects recorded in the Free Improvisation genre. The CD "Landscape With Figure" a duo improvisation with guitarist Scott Fraser is now listed with CDBaby also. This recording sounds just like they do in concert! Bruce Friedman has a very sweet trumpet sound, and a very intimate style of improvisation. The guitar is always interesting, and works well with the trumpet. I recommend this CD for anyone who wants to put some jazz on the living room stereo and drink a glass of wine with someone special...
