If Shon Sullivan [guitar and keys - the Eels, Elliott Smith and Neil Finn] could explain his music, he probably never would have written it. Lucky for us, Goldenboy travels in a lush, melancholy world that we can enter with them. 'Blue Swan Orchestra' is for the discriminate and imaginative indie pop connoisseur. One who is searching for something that will take them to another place or time with the eclectic sounds from the bands guitars, toy keyboards and various other unknown instruments as accompaniment to Sullivan's vocals.
With drummer/keyboardist Bryan Bos [previously of Moonwash] and bassist/ keyboardist David McConnell [mix engineer/ producer - Elliott Smith, Folk Implosion, Wilco], Goldenboy has performed around the world with artists such as Neil Finn, The Posies, Luna, Bright Eyes and Grandaddy.
The band tends to include their friends on their recordings, like the guest appearance by Elliott Smith on 'Blue Swan Orchestra" and who knows who shall appear on the next record?

Telehubbies say, "again!,again!"
author: Daniel Jacob
I wasn't planning on writing a review to this so forgive if it's ill thought out. I'm not trying to toot anyone's horn her or shout unwarranted accolades - it's unlike me to gush but this album, from start to finish completely has my attention and by the time the last song is finished, I'm disappointed. Now don't get me wrong - i'm not disappointed because the music was a let down. far from it! I'm disappointed because I didn't want it to be over. The album is like that day, that perfect day when everything is amazing, beautiful and when it's over and everyone has to go home, there's a gentle sadness because you wish that you could prolong the day and make it last so much longer... Well that is this album. "Wild Was the Night" , "Sing another Song for the Winter Long" , "20 Months in a Hail Storm" , "Kittens of Lust"....all incredible songs - no, really...i mean it. they're incredible. Do yourself a favor. Buy this album...it will become the new soundtrack of your life.

Fabulous!

From the cover onwards this is a fabulous album. I heard Wild Was The Night on the Grandaddy Below the Radio mix CD and loved it so bought this album. Great for people who like the Go Betweens, Teenage Fanclub, alt-country style Beck, any band whose year zero was The Byrds and, naturally, Grandaddy.
