When the four of us - Brian Gorrell, Shane Conaway, Johnny Nelson, Mike Walker - collectively known as "The Jazz Company" decided to record a Christmas CD, we quickly discovered how difficult it was to select only eleven songs! There are so many beautiful Christmas melodies that we could have easily chosen many more.
The songs contained in this project, both sacred and secular, each have meaning to us personally and musically. For this reason, when we began to rehearse and arrange the music, we made a conscious decision NOT to try and fit the music into a particular genre for commercial reasons. The only guiding principal we adhered to was what WE thought the music should sound like.
We leave the results to you, the listener! Merry Christmas always!

Well done interesting arrangements of Christmas classics

This is an interesting Christmas CD. It's across the board on different types of arrangements to Christmas standards. Some are light jazz, a couple are unusual out of the mainstream approaches to familiar tunes. Great recording job. I would highly recomendmend this one.
