A few years ago I decided to put away my very heavy Les Paul Gibson & the electric guitar rock sounds I was writing in bands & go the road solo…
With my steel string Martin & nylon guitars I started writing songs from a folk, blues & jazz perspective. I was dying to use my voice instead of just screaming down a microphone. I wanted to explore the colours, shades & timbre of my vocal instrument. And so began my solo music life as Bianca Jade…
In 2005 I released my first solo EP ‘Taste It’ showcasing 6 tracks of varying style from acoustic rock to folk tunes & smooth jazz.
Late 2005 I spent six weeks in New York City & London promoting the EP on my first overseas tour.
The success of this first tour took me back to the US in mid 2006 where I spent two months concentrating my efforts on the intoxicating & inspiring New York City music scene.
From this I gained much exposure over the web thanks to Podcast NYC who featured me on ‘The NY Minute Show’, ‘Alley Cuts’ & ‘Flow Music’ – all dedicated to promoting music in NYC (www.podcastnyc.net).
After receiving a music grant from Arts WA & with my newly inspired sounds from NYC I came home to make my second solo record. Combing a rustic blend of steel & nylon string guitars, upright bass & percussion the 6 track EP ‘East 3rd Street’ will be released in December 2006.
