Album Notes

"Linda represents the best of the best!"
- Joe Franklin (WOR Radio)

"Carnegie Hall has seen its far share of amazing performers. But perhaps one of the most magnificent performances is written about the place. “The Joint Is Really Jumpin’ Down at Carnegie Hall” by Linda Bianchi, which shows off not just her tremendous jazz vocals (and awesome skats) but pianist Fran Minarik’s rollicking and jangling key work. She follows that up with three more jazzy tunes that could easily be lifted and used in the next great Broadway musical."
- Smother.net Magazine

"Linda Bianchi sings with a personal zeal. As an established actress, she knows how to convince an audience. Bianchi is genuine. Her interpretations are the real deal. Light and carefree, she sings with a polished charm. With only piano alongside, she leaves us plenty of room to absorb the nuances of her performance. Seamless phrasing, studied breath control, pitch accuracy and a conversational eloquence make the difference. “On the Sunny Side of the Street” swings with a genuine big band countenance that recalls the heyday of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman and their extended families. The album even closes with a Basie ending. Step back about 70 years and Bianchi would make a highly successful big band vocalist."
- Jim Santella, Jazz Improv Magazine

"One of the stars that seem to shine brightly these days in the Jazz scene is Linda Bianchi. The world of Jazz and Showtunes are embracing Linda's studied breath control combined with her mischievous spirit provides four songs for you to tap your tootsies too. Any contemporary, Jazz or Cabaret music lover will settle in nicely with this cd while listening intently to her carefree vocal style in pair with her inserted spoken conversational pieces. To hear a singer that is genuine is so refreshing and hard to find around these days. If you like the finer things in life and want to sample a smidgen of this woman’s incredible talent you need to go pick up her cd and revel in it's wonderful charm. If you are near New York look her up, it's an opportunity you don't want to miss."

REVIEWS

The energy of Streisand without the edge.

There is only one thing wrong with this CD: it is too short. With only 4 selections, albeit fairly lengthy ones, I was left breathlessly hungering for more. Bianchi has the range, power, and dynamism of Streisand without the edgy smug attitude.
