notes
Big Harmonica Bob is "Spanning The Globe with the Blues".
These songs are really "Home Brewed Blues"...
With plenty of original harp blowin' and a good variety of
original songs. Big Harmonica Bob has played at the
"Legendary Buffalo Chip" in South Dakota for the last couple
of years and that inspired the song...
"My Wife Wants a Harley".
There are some instrumentals on this new C.D. that you might enjoy like "Pocket Fuzz" , "Corvette Susie"
and "Wild Bill".
They are all different, to say the least.
How many harp guys ever wrote a song about their
best friend? "Mississippi Saxophone" is a tribute to
that little friend that has traveled with us thru thick
and thin .... here's to the "Sandwich made of Tin"!
I recorded "Fifty Bucks" a while back and it was
played in England. I played all the instruments on that song as it was supposed to be a demo for the band to listen to. That led me to do this whole C.D. with me playing everything. I did this whole C.D. at my "Shack".
... I thought that I could capture the song ideas well enough to get them out of my head and out to you and do something that didn't sound quite like everybody else.
I hope you will listen to these and enjoy them as much
as I enjoyed doing them. These songs sound a bit different
than most standard blues songs ... kind of
"Home Brewed Blues" ... but Blues none the less...
I still have my own band it's called ...
"Big Harmonica Bob and The Outsiders". We play regularly at at the "Blue Cafe" in Long Beach, and other shows around the Southern California area.

----------------
P.P.S ... "Why C.D. Baby has helped Blues Artists"
"I had a real long dry spell, almost 16 years, and had come to the conclusion that the labels thought I had nothing to offer, so I don't know how to say no. When somebody ask me to record something I'm gonna do it. BUT SOMEDAY I WANT TO TRY TO RECORD MYSELF AND HAVE NO ONE BUT MYSELF TO BLAME FOR HOW IT COME OUT. I would like to go in the studio with my oun band , my own musicians, call out my own songs.
"In the old days, Eric and Hendrix and them would just go in the studio, lock the doors, get high, get *()(ed-up and play what they wanted to play and all that stuff turned out good. You give me a couple shots of cognac and turn me loose to do what I want, and I'll play every damn thing I know. You would get 120 percent of Buddy Guy, you would get the best singing and guitar playing that I'm capable of doing"
"Ain't but a handful of us around anymore" ... I'm turning 70 this year, man. It's like I become an endangered species, but I'm gonna keep it going long as I can"
From the Article ,120 PERCENT,BUDDY GUY: GIVING IT TO YOU
By Buddy Blue(I added the Capitals and edited the "F" word.)
C.D. Baby has allowed the Indie to do just what the
"Signed Artist" Buddy Guy has yet to do.
Once in awhile they find an animal or bird that was supposed to be extinct ... They just have to know where to look.
The Blues Ain't dead yet, you just have to know where to look. When an "Indie" gets Airplay, they call his label
"Self"... and they called him/her "Unsigned" ... it has
a Stigma attatched to it...
Here's to all the "Selfs" that get to do what the
"Signed" Artists have yet to do! Thank you C.D. baby for
helping all the collective "Selfs"... It's Revolutionary!
And for the people who get music here at C.D. Baby,
You are getting something that the "Labels" don't supply.
C.D. Baby is a great place to find an endangered species!
