Album Notes

"Mean Old Town" is a Blues C.D. that has many different
sounding blues songs on it. Some are more highly produced than others. Some follow the typical Blues pattern others don't. Many have great harp playing on them. (It's True)

Many of the songs break the 3 minute barrier. This is
because the songs needed some space.

The last song "Why You Have to Be So Mean?" has been played
on the Blues Radio Show called "Breakfast With The Blues".

The D.J. is "Coffee Jack". Jack plays 70% harmonica songs
on his show. This show is every Wednesday and he calls it
"Harmonica Hump Day". Jack is in Eugene Oregon and his show
is on 91.9 fm.
Thanks Jack, harp players sure appreciate friends like you!

Some songs from this C.D. have also been played on the "Mojo Dreams" Radio Show in Belgium,
FM 106.2 with Mark Verbert ...
Nov. and Dec. 2006 ... Thanks Mark!
Mark played "I'm Your Money Man" and "Mean Old Town"!

Most of these songs are from the "write about what you
know" school. I hope you enjoy them ... My live show
features a great band that plays very traditional blues.
These recordings go a little bit beyond the traditional
and mix it up a little bit.

Each song is different so might I suggest that
you give each one a listen? Thanks ...

My Current Band is "Big Harmonica Bob and The Outsiders"

If you are in the Long Beach California area we
play at "The Blue Cafe" Every Sunday in the "Blue Room" starting at 7pm.

These songs should be fun ... Long Live The Blues!

Hey listen to "I'm Your Money Man" that funky thing
you think is a "keyboard" is a Harmonica! ...
Hey something a little different ...
Viva The Blues!

Listen to "Bits of Dirt" for a harp wanking instrumental!

You can get each song on itunes. Go to itunes and put
in Big Harmonica Bob. Thanks, Long Live The Blues!

Mean Old Town

Hey congratulations! That CD Mean Old Town really has Great songs all over it my fave is ..... I can't freakin decide. I mean it. I'm gonna listen many more times. The songwriting was killer and the recording and mixing was pro all the way. How do you record? Or rather what type of setup do you use? The result of all the different moods and colors in the songs really makes a solid freakin' album (don't laugh at me) but really it's one you wanna keep hearin. TEll Gloria is so nice. "So that little girl and I can both start howlin' at the moon" Man that really hits the spot in your gut. Can you tell me what the heck that's about? If you can't don't....I know how that goes. I'd rather live in my shack rocks heavy. "I know you got a satellite dish - I got a pole - I got some fish..." Among other classic lines... good stuff.. And holy moly let us not forget Rollin' Straight Ahead. Man what a nice ride. It does the blues right and your ears good in a deep way. So many pieces of that playing hits hard and just bloody right. And Why You Have to be So Mean? Nails down all the jerks in this game. In style. I love that one too. "A Star ain't nothin' but a big ball o' gas". Sweet. The harp on that song is like a Big Bob baseball bat to a deserving head-ball.? Sorry I said that. I'm not really that mean. Like the Mean Old Town is. Thanks for an epic piece of work, this one really hit me. Andy
