Album Notes

Big Deal's 2007 debut album "Non Sufficient Funds" introduced a brand new musical force to the world! Taking the more up-tempo musical elements from that record & refining them with heavier guitars, bigger drums, not to mention rock-solid songwriting, their 2010 offering "Sound The Alarm" is a major leap forward for the Canadian group.
There is a new level of urgency & intensity to the group's sound. The musicianship is top-notch & the arrangements leave nothing to be desired. Big Deal literally sound like they've grown up... into fine young delinquents!
There is also a common thread that weaves its way throughout the fabric of the record. Common lyrical themes, as well as melodies, crop up from time to time throughout the album, tying the whole thing together in an almost subliminal way. From the opening lines of the first track, Birthday - "Tell your sister I'll be home to celebrate her birthday!" - to the final resolution of the track during the reprise near the end of the album, you will not be able to press the stop button!
