Album Notes

June epitomizes gritty lyricism when it doesn’t show contempt for commercialism & the industry standard of hip hop music. He is the proverbial birth child that would be if Remy Ma and Papoose tied the knot and started popping out little Remy-Pooses. Better Yet imagine a secret Rendezvous between Lauryn Hill & Big Daddy Kane that was christened with an offspring. That child would have been born with the talent of a young inexperienced June.

Hailing from Brooklyn Ny, Big June has the story telling ability of Notorious B.I.G. after his genes were spliced with the witty charisma of Slick Rick. When June rhymes on a track, the effortless style by which he navigates a beat is reminiscent of Dale Earnhardt breezing through the incredibly difficult Yougus road in Bolivia at a hundred miles an hour. Picture riding the British roller coast Colossus while doing a handstand, this is the agility of Big June’s flow. he’s literally a contortionist with words, some how fitting meaning and depth into rhythm patterns that leave you wondering if that’s really possible. It’s clear that he knows what he’s doing in songs like "Tight Emcee" off of his album THE SCRATCHING THE SURFACE MIXTAPE when he commands "ob-serve/ what you see here before you is ab-surd/ a visual that has you forgetting it’s just-words/the literal definition of what’s most-preferred/making mere nouns and verbs, stuff you don’t deserve/"

while exploring an assortment of lyrical techniques, his music doesn’t loose any depth unless intended by the author, Songs like the soulfully techno-house styled "Swingerz" allows the music and the Melodic singing of Songstress Anisa to not be overshadowed by flashy lyrics and complex wordplay, or his NY version of Tupac’s- keep your head up- titled "Victory" where he inspires people to never give up on their dreams, is neither watered down nor hard to understand. then again on songs like "Watch Your Mouth" he spits gritty relatable realism with Emenim-esque lyrical complexity.

Many people claim to be what the Game’s been missing, but Big June from Bklyn is more like a combination of all the best parts of the game balled into one rhythmic wordsmith. Even still he has no big head and constantly bigs up the lyricist before him like in his bass heavy made for SUV’s hood banger "Consignment" where he mentions "...it seems strange to have to play the game by these standards/ but consignment is only one if the B.I.G.’s commandments/"

There are so many artist that claim to be "spittin that fiya" but very few live up to that standard so In closing all that’s left to be said is seeing is believing, & the proof is in the pudding, so look no further put on some headphones and taste the rainbow, because as June would say:"words are like cooper, but action is Platinum"
