Album Notes

One day 3 big kids (Park Ellis, Patrick Miller, and David Henry) all said at the same time, "Hey, wouldn't it be fun to have an album that parents actually ENJOYED listening to with their children?"

And they all answered in unison, "YES!" (Jinx)

So with the help of big and little kids alike, that is exactly what they created - a CD for Children AND Adults!

Check it out! Hope you enjoy listening to it as much as they enjoyed making it!

*****Don't miss the two cameo vocal performances by Leigh Nash of Sixpence None-the-Richer, which are sure to lull your child to sleep!****

"The Big Kids all hail from Nashville, and have brought their own pop-infused, country-twinged styles to kids for the first time. Melodic arrangements dot the landscape of the album, revealing classic vocal/guitar/bass/percussion foundations coupled with lively horns, keyboards, cello, tambourine, and/or the occasional whimsical noisemaker. Sure to get the kids jumping up and down, there have been documented reports of three-year-olds having memorized the entire album from stem to stern, despite the more elaborate lyrical content. It seems as though this first release has really struck a chord with kids of all ages."

"Whether you are a child or a child at heart, you are going to love this terrific new CD. Park Ellis, David Henry and Patrick Miller have put together some of the most delightfully enjoyable music you will ever hear. Songs of whimsy, humor and haunting beauty. Titles inlude: That's What I'll Be, Till My Computer Broke Down, Firefly, Fisherman Jack, Shi Wa O Wa, Funky Mushroom, Good Ole Animal Song, One Love, Close Your Eyes ( a beautiful lullaby with a special guest performance by Leigh Nash), Knock, Knock, Knockin' and This Land Is Your Land. Do not miss this CD. With guest performers Sean McNamara, Sean Kelly, Leigh Nash, Tammy Rhoton and... The Little Big Kids!"

* Dustin Turnmyre, Middle Tennessee Health & Wellness

"These cleverly composed songs run the gamut from upbeat sing-alongs to beautiful, soft lullabies - making this an ideal album for families to enjoy together. Favorites include "Shi Wa O Wa", a sleepy lullaby about the wind, and "Funky Mushroom", and energetic ballad about an oversized fungi that takes over the whole house! The album also includes covers of "One Love", by Bob Marley, and "This Land is Your Land", by Woody Guthrie. -bh"

Every time we listen to this CD we have a new favorite song. Check out the lyrics to Funky Mushroom, the pathos of Fisherman Jack, the pretty melody on Firefly and the sing-along fun on One Love and This Land is Your Land. Hopefully these guys will put together another CD soon.

If you've had enough of the kazoos and slidewhistles and you just want some quality rock for your kids, you will find humble, grounded, real-life music on this album. Who ever said music needed to talk sweet or talk down to kids? Who ever said that we needed a circus or carnival to grab their attention? With insightful, relevant lyrics and topics, you'll no longer have to pop the Advil before switching to the kids' discs. Highly, highly recommended for families- especially for those with long road trips ahead of them.
