Album Notes

Big street m.p. released their first record \"acoustic kindergarten\" in february 2007 and have thus far received a lot of excellent feedback for the songs, Stay and Mercy remix (radio edit) from several radio stations in the U.K, Australia, California, The Netherlands and Japan just to mention a few. The style is a mix of acoustic pop, smooth jazz, westcoast music and soul. If you like those styles you will hear their influences. But their debut cd also shows that they have developed their own uniquely recognisable style with blending musicianship. Most of the musicians have studied at the University of Music in Gothenburg and been working as part time freelancers. Musicians that are included in Big street m.p. are:

Joel Hagen - saxophone, flute
Tobias Hedlund - cajon, percussion
Viktor Olofsson - guitars, vocals
Johan Brengesjo - trumpet
Isak Widmark - drums, percussion, guitars, bass........
Johan Thelin - bass
Kristian Selan - guitars, vocals
Henrik Oscarsson - keyboards
Martin Sundstrom - bass
Jonathan Gustafsson - trumpet
Fredrik Lyden - guitar
Mckey - Drums, vocals.

Here are some of the reviews from the radio:

\"Very good\", Rebecca Kelly, BBC Radio Manchester.
\"Good harmonies and lyrics\", Bill Rowe, Citysound & Radio Poplar; UK
\"Catchy beat, would like to hear more\", Dennis Payne, SON FM 88, Australia
\"Great voice, good song and lyrics\" Darren Mangold, Community and BBC local radio

Acoustic Kindergarten

I had the opportunity to see the group live during their summer 2008 tour of the eastern U.S. Actually, I saw them three times. They are gifted artists with meaningful lyrics and well-crafted music. If you have the opportunity to see them live, do it. If not, buy the CD. You won't be disappointed.

Smooth music with touch of the classic west coast style. Vocals must be inspired by Erik Tagg and many of the other vocalist in the west coast music world.
