Highlights: guitar, voice, lyrics
author: Jan Kather
Recently I heard Kyle and Elaine perform in Elmira, NY and realized I was in the presence of real musicians - no amplification, processing, etc - just honest voice and guitar. Many songs they sang are on this CD, and I am delighted to relive that experience of hearing their songs, so beautifully, mournfully filling the performance space. Elaine and Kyle have a remarkable synergy when they share voice, guitar, and stories about the origin of lyrics. Kyle's guitar solos can whisper sweet lullabies or whip up a frenzy of emotion. He is a master musician. if you hear Big Wide Grin in person, you'll be compelled buy this CD. But why wait when you can buy it now?
