Singer, songwriter and sailor, Bill Davis comes from a family of musicians and singers. Playing guitar is a skill he picked up at sea while serving wtih the U S Navy. His roots are in the folk music of the 70s. Bill is a founding member of the Irish group County Mayo. He has been perfoming Celtic music for over 20 years. His clear tenor harmonies help to create County Mayo's unique sound.

Combining his passions for music and sailing, he has recorded Let's Sail Away! This 14 song CD features 9 original songs inspired by his many sailing adventures on Lake Erie and along the coast of Maine.

The title song, Let's Sail Away and The Fisherman express the joy of being addicted to the life on the water.

Stonington was written aboard the historical schooner
Issacc Evans during a visit to that harbor on South Deer Isle.

The Niagara tells the story of Perry's Flagship during the War of 1812. She was rebuilt recently at the port of Erie, Pennsylvania.

Joe Root lived on Presque Isle around the turn of the century. He was taken away by local officials from the home that he loved.

On the Whale's Way explains the sailor's life in the North Atlantic searching for Whales.

The Ballad of Clark White is about Bill's Great Grandfather, a fiddler who worked and lived along the Ohio River.

The Bonnie Isle of Shoals is a story of lost love off the coast of New Hampshire.

The decline of the fishing industry in Pennsylvanie waters is explained in The End Of The Line.

Let's Sail Away was recorded at Rosewood studio and engineered by Wes Homner.

Bill Davis plays guitar and sings lead and harmony vocals. He is accompanied by Bill Lewis playing 5 string banjo, harmonica, mandolin, concertina and bass. Marcy Dubec played flute and penny whistle.
