Good Feeling Summertime Music!!
author: Jon Strausser
I just received it today in the mail! FANTASTIC cd!! This kind of music just makes you feel like your on the beach! REAL FEELGOOD MUSIC! My only complaint is that it is a CD-R copy. I usually prefer original factory pressed cd's. It was originally released on cd in the mid 90's and has since been out of print for years! It sells upwards from $35.00 to $60.00 on some sites. For now I'll just have to settle with a CD-R copy. Overall it's a WONDERFUL cd to have in anyone's collection if you like the Philly Northern Soul sound!!

Takes me back to the beach...

This CD lives up to its name and brought me back to the days of my youth in the Virginia Beach area.
The music career of Bill Deal and the Rhondells is fully represented and this reminded me of why their unique "beach music" style meant so much to me.

GOOD TIME BEACH MUSIC
author: jonaco
Bill Deal and the Rhondels were one of the few "beach music" bands to hit nationally. Their lively mix of Righteous Brothers-flavored vocals (by organist Deal and drummer Ammon Tharp) and bright, horn-and-organ arrangements
are a good intro to the danceable sound of the Carolinas and Hampton Roads (this band's base). Philly-based Jerry Ross brought the Rhondels north and made tunes like Maurice Williams' "May I" and the Tams' "What Kind of Fool" major national hits back in '69, when I first heard them; I've been a fan ever since. This is the best Rhondels CD I've found: 22 familiar, mostly-cover hits for a great price.
