"Motel Room Blues" is high-energy blues guitar, excellent songwriting and first rate vocals!
This CD belongs to a style I personally call ‘road blues’ or Americana music, deeply based on southern country-rock-blues tradition. The influences of bands like ‘Allman Brothers Band’, ‘Comander Cody and His Lost Planet’, ‘Z.Z. Top’ or ‘Lynard Skynard’ are evident on this excellent album, skillfully and tastefully done. Probably the reason is Lyerly already is a very professional experienced musician who has been in the music business for a long time. Bill Lyerly`s amazing musical talent is present throughout this cd, although it was recorded in 2000, it has not lost any of its validity. I would even dare say that, as years go by, ‘Motel Room Blues’ will become an even more outstanding record. Well done, very poetical songs with excellent guitar, vocals and keyboards arrangements, give a huge quality to a record I love more and more every time I listen to it. GREAT.
