BILL SOLLY has been coming up with songs and musicals since he started out in Canada many years ago writing for stars like Robert Goulet. In England he wrote for Maurice Chevalier, Petula Clark, Dusty Springfield, Annie Ross, Marty Feldman, Brigitte Bardot, George Burns and many others, and had five productions in London's West End, including Danny La Rue at the Palace and The Great American Backstage Musical. The latter, book co-authored with Donald Ward, originated in Los Angeles and has since been produced in theatres all over the US. With co-author Ward, Solly has had six other musicals produced in New York, including the 1975 Off Broadway hit Boy Meets Boy, which has also been revived often, most recently & with great success in South Africa and in San Francisco. On his own Solly has written many musicals for children, of which the best-known is The Cat in the Castle, and in New York he runs BSCT (The Bill Solly Children's Theatre). His latest project is a gay revue featuring songs from the Gay Friendly CD. Bill Solly is a member of the Dramatists Guild.
