Drummer/Composer Bill Stewart has independenly released his latest cd of mostly original music, intitled BILL STEWART TRIO--KEYNOTE SPEAKERS.It is his first cd release as a leader since 1997's TELEPATHY(Blue Note). The cd also features keyboardists Larry Goldings and Kevin Hays, two important bandleaders on their own, and musicians that Stewart has appeared with in many different contexts over the years. This cd features an unusual instumentation(primarily Hammond organ with piano/elecric piano)and original music. Bill Stewart has also appeared as a drummer with many artists, including John Scofield, Pat Metheny, Maceo Parker, The Larry Goldings trio,Lee Konitz, Jim Hall, James Moody, Michael Brecker, Joe Henderson,Charlie Haden,Chris Potter, Joe Lovano, James Brown and many others.
