Album Notes

A multi-instrumentalist from Houston, TX, Bill has graced the main stage at the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival numerous times. His literate approach to songwriting and his expressive baritone voice has garnered him many accolades and awards as well as international airplay. Kirpal Gordon of New York City said: “We need a new vocabulary to get at what is distinctive in this songwriter whose haunting yet honeyed voice is inseparable from the miles he has traveled, the sorrows he has seen, the community he conjures in the notes he bends. It’s the voice that is key. I don't know a singer who can put that much meaning and feeling and nuance into a vocal. He knows how to risk everything with his voice, and there is no truer, surer sign of a singer of love songs than a willingness to risk it all. His music flows like it’s been worn smooth, river over rock, a thousand years old. What a relief to encounter the real McCoy!”
