Album Notes

A few years back when I had Bill Watrous in town guesting with my big band, I told him that I had arranged for him to play with an organ trio on Thursday night. He raised both eyebrows as if to say, "You're nuts! Trombone and organ?" But after the gig, Bill exclaimed, "We have to record this next time I'm in town!" It took a bit longer than "next time," but I think you'll love the results.

The CD features two long-time musician friends of mine, Craig Kastelnik on organ and Tom Kozic on guitar, who are, like me, from the Allentown, PA area. It also includes multi-Grammy award drummer Bill Goodwin.

Once again Mr. Watrous shows the incredible capabilities of the trombone--both lightning speed jazz and smooth romantic ballads. Enjoy!
