Album Notes

Spiritual Peaks and Valleys is a journey through the ups and downs, as well as the ins and outs of various facets of the mystical path. The combination of music/words might be referred to as a ‘spirit-jamming’ , ‘Sufi hip hop’, or a ‘ruh (spirit)/ sirr (mystery)’ approach to things. The style of the album is sort of a Sufi version of Leonard Cohen -- except he has a better voice than Bill Whitehouse does.

Music has been selected to match the mood of the ideas, thoughts, and themes that are expressed through the words of the individual pieces. The range of music and words is fairly eclectic, and, hopefully, the combination of the two will induce the listener to reflect on themes which are rooted in common experiences arising out of the mysteries of life.

Bill Whitehouse graduated with honors from Harvard University. In addition, he earned a doctorate in education from the University of Toronto.
