A dreamy delightful tale about a girl and her fairie friends, plus a troll and a pet frog! The many moods of this quiet-listening chapter story (from adventurous to poignant to heart-warming) are beautifully enhanced by evocative hammered dulcimer music.

About the story:
Every summer since 2001 I have told stories at the Winterthur Museum and Country Estate in Winterthur, DE. They have created an absolutely breathtaking children’s garden called Enchanted Woods (TM). When the garden is filled with children laughing and dashing about, it is easy to imagine the voices of other little people laughing and playing with them. Visitors to the garden are given a map that introduces them to the various features they will encounter, such as the Faerie Cottage and the Troll Bridge. In 2006 I was commissioned by Winterthur to create a story that incorporated some of the features of Enchanted Woods (TM), and could be told there in the garden. The result is the story on this CD!
I gratefully acknowledge the inspiration that Enchanted Woods (TM) has provided me (not just for this story, but for others as well) and thank Winterthur for the opportunity to create Teagan and the Fairies!

About the Music:
I met Maggie Sansone when I began performing at the Maryland Renaissance Faire in 1990. I instantly became a Maggies Music fan! Every year I look forward with anticipation to the opening of the Faire. I love to dance as Maggie plays for the Village Revels (I’ve even danced with Maggie a few times!), or put on a puppet show along with Maggie’s dancing wooden dogs called Rover Dance!
When I started to create this story, I found that Maggie’s music was often in my head. So I started listening to her CD’s while I worked The beautifully evocative melodies would often take Teagan (and my imagination) on long tangents away from the main story. (Perhaps one day I’ll share some of the stories Teagan heard the sailors tell about the mermaids at the bottom of the ocean! I have intentionally left spaces between sections of the story where you can listen to Maggie's music and let your imagination wander as well!) When I made the decision to record the story I had to ask Maggie to add her music! Thanks Maggie for agreeing to be part of the project!
The shorter music tracks used on this CD were arranged and recorded by Maggie specifically for this story. The longer musical sections are a combination of excerpts from previously recorded CD’s in the Maggies Music catalog (look for them on CDBaby or at MaggiesMusic.com) and new material recorded for this CD.
