Billy Flynn’s Easy Baby release, Chicago Blues Mandolin, pays tribute to the great mandolin practitioners Johnny Young and Yank Rachel. In his usual creative style, Flynn delves deep into the mandolin tradition, presenting 11 original compositions compiling an impressive selection of boogie, slow blues, and country blues styles. An innovative, contemporary return to the charm of mandolin blues--an almost faded genre that remains vibrant and unique in the hands of this loving master. Check out the rave reviews in the editions of Living Blues (US), Il Blues (Italy), Juke Blues (UK), and Blues In Britain (UK).

Blues on the Mandolin, that was news to me!
author: Malcolm Griffiths Sheaf Guitars Sheffield UK
Blues on the mandolin was a new form of music for me, as in the UK the madolin is mainly used for folk styles of music, celtic etc. I just love the way licks on the mandolin link in with the backing and vocals. The Instrumental tracks are just awsome. If you like blues and play the madolin you must have this cd, it will inspire you.

Billy picks it up where the legendary Yank Rachell left off!
author: Rich DelGrosso
This is "old school" blues from the urban midwest, as Billy struts his Yank Rachell stuff. He's captured the sound and the soul of the music. A veteran performer and fine player. Be sure to add this "Chicago Blues" to your collection.
