The Yoga Child CD is comprised of melodious songs and magical meditations. Each piece incorporates simple yoga asanas (positions) and breathing exercises derived from the Yoga Child children’s classes. In the “Sun in the Sky” your little one can become the sun, the moon and the glittering stars. The “Powerful Train” provides the opportunity to play the role of the mighty train through the use of pumping arms and focused breath. Together, you can enjoy fanciful journeys as a butterfly and seagull and then experience the calming centeredness that arises as you partake in fun filled farm animal chants and our magical meditations. These can be done at any time, with space on a floor in your home or even in the car. Enjoy the CD with your child for wonderful bonding time. You\'ll both be hooked!

YOGA CHILD, is the creation of Gail Silver, a former Child Advocate Attorney and award winning adult & child yoga instructor. Through her work as a child advocate, Gail realized the importance of providing children with a forum in which they could express themselves via body movement, breathing & vocalization. Born from this passion was the creation of Yoga Child. The Yoga Child studio is located in Philadelphia, PA at 903 South St. and is home to classes for children, adults, pregnant women and mother/baby classes as well as the headquarters of a highly regarded program bringing yoga instruction to Philadelphia area schools and is also known for its teacher training programs. www.yogachild.net

While teaching yoga in the Philadelphia area schools and with children in the Yoga Child studios, Gail noticed that innate connection that each child had with melody and how it helped them to focus and to enjoy the benefits of yoga. Over a long period of time, Gail created the different melodies and meditations that form the basis of Yoga Child, A Peaceful Place Inside. The album was then recorded in the Bingo Records tradition with only the highest of recording standards at Halaju Beach Studios, utilizing the amazing vocal talents of Gail Silver and Robin Trent to produce a finished product that both parents and kids can enjoy together.

In 2005 Yoga Child’s Kids program was honored on CBS and in Philadelphia Magazine as the “Best place to strike a pose with your child.” The Yoga Child Kids and School programs have been featured on NPR, in Philadelphia Magazine and Violet Magazine, a national publication for parents. Parents Express magazine featured Gail Silver as their Enterprising Woman of 2004. Gail has contributed to the KYW News educational report, provides editorials on the benefits of yoga to The Expectant Mothers Guide and is the yoga consultant to PBS Kids Sprout for all yoga segments seen on The Good Night Show. As seen in the Philadelphia Daily News, Yoga Child is a provider of yoga for the After School Activities Partnership program.
