Album Notes

Funded by Community Arts Palmerston North, this is an Irish rock CD, and a celebration of the Irish tenor banjo.
It has been described as "Steeleye Span/Thin Lizzy/Pogues and a hint of Ashley Hutchings. And Madness!"
It's an album of traditional Irish songs and instrumentals, plus 3 songs I wrote myself, all rocked up a bit.
So, not all acoustic and folky, but also not extreme metal, just traditional tunes with a bit of an attitude.
Sitting somewhere between the Pogues and the Dropkick Murphys, it should appeal to folkies and rockers alike.

Big thanks to Gabor the Hungarian Thunder who played drums on tracks 5 and 7, and Paul Turner who played whistle on those tracks. Also to the Heavy Blarney Band who helped me play this stuff live: Seamus Finn, Cathal MacDeth, Slapskins O'Shaughnessy and Paul The Pennywhistle Turner. Slainte!
