Album Notes

Bison describes their music as Folk-chestral combining elements of indie-folk with classical sensibilities. Utilizing banjo, mandolin, acoustic guitars, shakers, bells, goat toenails, tambourines, a kick drum, a pump organ, cello, violin, three part harmonies, wind wands, and anything else that makes music interesting and beautiful. Bison is emerging as a fresh sound. Their live performances are dynamic and captivating, with members sharing instruments while encouraging and sometimes even directing audiences to sing along.

The Quill album was recorded in two days live at Minimum Wage Recording in Richmond, VA. Lance Koehler recorded the songs capturing the live sound and energy of Bison. The band comes from Chesapeake, VA and is comprised of family members and friends. One listen to Quill and you will want to be a part of the Bison family!
