Bitch and Animal are a hyper-animated duo of beat-savvy, verse-spoutin' multi-instrumentalists who react to their surroundings by writing and performing sexually energized songs that move butts and bust guts, using drums, violins, ukuleles and anything else they can get their hands on. They're exactly the kind of act you won't find on commercial radio or MTV, even though the world would be a much happier place if you could. Sour Juice and Rhyme, (co-produced by the band and June Millington, whose mid-70s band Fanny blazed a trail for the next three decades of hard-rocking women musicians)is the duo's third and pussiest album.

these two radical chicks have been touring the country for years spreading their words, funky grooves, poetic rants and political mess messages, offering hope and life-changing performances to the people who have seen them live.

their repetoire covers such broad subjects as the queer encounters of a girl and a drag king, a machismo rap song about strap ons, a church hymnal piping up to the ganja goddess, break up songs that will rip your guts out, one chick's view of the burning world trade center, and of course their legendary political document, the "pussy manifesto."

Bitch and Animal will bend yer head, and their words will follow you to bed. Because it's not just a band, it's an attitude.

    Even if you just buy this for the hilarious 'feminist housewives' with it's 80s remix "I'm a dyke, dyke, dyke dyke, d-d-d-d dyke-dyke" it's worth it. Some many people try and emulate Ani, these fine women manage to mix Ani with the Mouldy Peaches and come out with something excellent.

    This is my first experience with one of Bitch and Animal's CD and i must say i am satisfied. This is what i think music can be, a medium to express oneself and openly be truthful, making a statement and having a good time, all the same. The words and the delivery are fresh and poignant, the womyns' voices are honest and come through with feeling and a punch of satirical fun. I will definetly buy the other CD's from these artists'. Thank you for spending some of the day with me, in the car, lately....nice company! :)

    This CD is outstanding, impressive, amazing.. I actually lack the vocabulary to accuately describe a CD that has me entranced with the beats in one second and laughing the next. Croquet stands out the most, an insane tribute to croquet.. a MUST have!

    "Croquet" was a funny little hip hop style ditty. Not serious at all. It's a nice break from all of the non-stop lesbian/womens politics. My favorite song is "Feminist Housewives" everytime I hear that one, I just crack up.
