Album Notes

In the tradition of Gil Scott-Heron, the Last Poets, and Jack Kerouac, Legitimate Business Model Records proudly presents the debut E.P. from Bryan Keith and Ted M. -- "the Headbelt Sessions". Ted M.'s music and arrangements compliment Bryn Keith's evocative, tell-it-like-it-is style of elucidation of his views, both personal and political. Track 4, "5 Minutes", has been interpreted as a short film by L.A.-based director Michelle Martens.

The four works presented on this EP began with Bryan coming into the studio and recording the vocal tracks without any concept of the music or arrangements that would accompany them. On his way out the door, he told Ted he could "do what you want" with them. The music the result of the six months of fit-and-start arranging and recording that followed.

Ted M. is a composer and musician residing in San Francisco, California. He prefers the studio to the stage, and tends to compose for classical guitar before arranging or recording.

Born in Compton, California, Bryan Keith is a poet and artist to watch in San Francisco. The tracks for this album were recorded shortly before he went on an artistic sabbatical to Cayukos, California. This is his first recording effort.
