Two worlds collide...
It was actually more like three worlds colliding. The night started off with a barrage of rappers, not sure who any of them were but at least one of them brought the whole package with style, charisma, lyrics and showmanship.
Next to hit the stage was Black Angel Down, another one of Nokio's (Dru Hill) projects, this one however is a Hard Rock explosion, a far cry from Dru Hill. Kicking the night off with their most recognized song called "Wind" with it's rich harmonies draped in to complement Nokio's soulful style. The set list also included their new song which was played on 98 Rock recently called "Pretty Face." The rest of the set included, "Down," "In My Time," "Bitter Son" and "I know You're Out There." Tonight's performance was nearly as intense as when performing at an all rock show but seemed a little reserved tonight. Nokio and the guys did their set as if it were on auto-pilot, that's just how fine tuned this project is and the guys seem to work well together on-stage. The band also performed one of their most notable/recognizable songs at the end of the night with Dru Hill when they performed a rock version of "How Deep Is Your Love?" Great set, from a great project. The members are Tamir "Nokio" Ruffin – Vocals, Tao – Vocals, Kevin Baker – Bass, Dan Angermaier – Drums, David Peers– Guitar and Ralphie Rene Rodriguez - Lead Guitar. All these guys come from accomplished backgrounds and are a natural fit to this project.
