The Black Dogs were formed in Orlando, Florida in 1989. Composed of staff musicians from Walt Disney World, the band soon took the Traditional Jazz world by storm with the release of their first album and tour, "Come Hear the Truth!” Dedicated to infusing contemporary rhythms and sounds into classic New Orleans Jazz, the "Dogs” changed the face of the Traditional Jazz world. Always in pursuit of the original goal, to introduce new energy into vintage American popular music, they crested the wave of “Jump Swing” years before the current crop of swingsters.
Also, having discovered the shocking fact that outside of the Crescent City, the bulk of the nation is completely oblivious to “Mardi Gras” music the “Dogs” have always made it a point to carry the finest in New Orleans Rhythm and Blues sounds to the rest of the Traditional Jazz world. Touring Europe in 1990, China and 1992, and Europe again in 1997, 2005, and 2006 the Black Dogs have shared the gospel of New Orleans music with fans of many nations as well as headlining Traditional Jazz festivals all across the United States.

It'll put a smile on your face!

I can't intelligently critique anyone's musicianship or cultural veracity. I just know I really enjoyed this CD.
To me it seems as authentic as it gets. It will make people at work wonder why you're smiling. If you ain't shakin' some body part when the Black Dogs play, you might need defib. The recording get's out of the way and let's you fall into the performance. The samples ("play all songs") are generous so have a listen on me. And don't forget the beads. Gotta have beads....
