Album Notes

Co-founder/CEO of Black Marketing Entertainment Willy Shakes teamed up with DJ Boy Wonda to put out his 2nd CD "Crushed Linens" The highly anticipated and entirely DJ Boy Wonda-produced album/mixtape features the hit singles "360 Bounce", "Lonely" and "It's The Money".

The album is reminiscent of the "golden-era" of hip hop, referring to early and mid-90's rap, where lyrics were the decisive factor of whether you were hot or not. Shakes mixes a laid back flow with witty punchlines and interesting concepts to create an album worth listening to from beginning to end.

DJ Boy Wonda plays his part too, with beats that seem to fit Willy Shakes' style so perfectly. The soul and jazz samples Boy Wonda uses on tracks like "The B.O.S.S. Remix" and "Mayday" gives the album a cool vibe, yet the hard hitting baseline of tracks like "The Elm" and "Lonely" give it a good balance and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

This album is a must-have in your hip-hop collection, right next to your big gold dookie chain, Kangol bucket, unlaced Adidas sneakers and "Paid in Full" 12" vinyl. In other words, it's hip-hop in it's purest form.

Real Hip-Hop is still out there...."Crushed Linens" doesn't disappoint!!!
author: Misery
For anyone who grew up during the rebirth-era of hip-hop (early to mid 90's), listening to 'Crushed Linens' takes you back to that time. Good old fashioned HIP-HOP music minus the gimmicks; relying only on the love for the music and straight up skills! Willy Shakes really puts it down on the mic, and DJ Boy Wonda provides the perfect canvas for Shakes' smooth flow & lyrics with soulful, hard-hitting beats. It's a great combination. For anybody hungry for real hip-hop music, there's a potent dose of it right here with 'Crushed Linens'. Judging by this album, things can only get better....Shakes is definitely a force to be reckoned with. Highly recommended!
