Album Notes

Black Stone Ritual [blak] [stohn] [rich-oo-uhl] – noun: An American heavy metal band quixotically bent on world domination through their own brand of noise and mayhem.
This band of Nordic, Viking, Werewolf, Vampire, Cocksmen on the prowl, who play rock ‘n’ roll have openly declared themselves as the last bastion of sadomasochistic, chauvinistic, overly-obsessive, primally-aggressive, virile and potent expressions of male heterosexuality left on the planet! And besides all of that, they brew a pretty good pint of ale.
With a pounding rhythm section, a down tuned guitar that sounds like Sabbath on steroids, and a singer who’s thoroughly convinced that he’s a reincarnated Viking warlord, (but more likely just a rehashed copy-cat of Robert Plant, Ronnie James Dio, and a straight Rob Halford all rolled into one), they create a sound that is a blend of old school and modern metal. Their lyrical subject matter is as diverse as the delusions that pollute their depraved minds.
“Some might find them to be cute and funny. We personally find them to be vulgar and insane.” -
Triple F. and F. F. McGillicuddy
