Black Tie Two
This band, Black Tie, is comprised of four very well-known artists in the country/pop world. Black Tie Two, the long-awaited follow-up to their well-received debut CD When The Night Falls, will be released this fall.
Randy Meisner played bass with the Eagles and wrote and sang Take It To The Limit, one of their biggest selling singles. Next comes Jimmy Griffin, a founding member of the pop group Bread, one of the biggest groups of the 70’s and 80’s. If and Guitar Man were big singles, and Jimmy also won an Academy Award for writing For All We Know, a big hit for The Carpenters. Third comes Billy Swan, who had a pop hit in the 70’s called I Can Help, a record that John Lennon said was his favorite record that year. Billy is the lead vocalist of the recording we are offering on this CD of Away In A Manger. The second track on this “mini EP”, Listen To The Radio, was a top ten record in the country market, and because of its regional references and Cajun flavor was included as a tribute to the people of New Orleans.
Also a member of Black Tie is Charlie Rich Jr., son of the famous singer of Behind Closed Doors and a sensational singer and writer himself. He sings and wrote the third selection, I’m Sure Of You. The producer of Black Tie, Reggie Fisher, is known for his many productions in both country and pop, and for producing the first three records by T-Bone Burnett and eight of the selections on his new Twenty Twenty CD.
