Ottawa musician Blake Walters feels he was called to music as a lawyer might be called to the bar or an executioner might be called to the scaffold. Ever since he started hearing coherent music organize itself in his head in the mid ‘90’s, Blake has worked tirelessly towards perfecting the distillation of a thought, a feeling, an obsession into a three-and-a-half minute pop song. He has been flying under the radar on the Ottawa live scene for a decade, playing solo, with a band, or sharing bills with other local songwriters. His new album, Together Again, is a harmonious blend of witty introspection and melodic pop strong enough to withstand repeated singing in the shower. Blake’s other releases include the solo acoustic Music for Misfits (2007) and the energetic, tongue-in-cheek Downtown Baby (2003).
